I was doing an exercise circuit program that involved a lot of bicep curls, tricep dips, bench press and pushups. During one of my workout sessions I felt a twinge in my right wrist and forearm. It didn't hurt initially but a few days later my arm started to ache and I had sensations of numbness and pins and needles.

Fast forward 14 months and several appointments with my doctor, acupuncturist, physiotherapist and chiropractor, I decided to see Ed Paget at The English Osteopaths.  After explaining my situation, Ed examined my arm and diagnosed my pain as a displaced bone in my wrist. With a quick adjustment, my symptoms went away and I haven't felt pain since.

I am so grateful to have met Ed and the The English Osteopath team and will continue to use their services. I definitely recommend seeing them for any pain or discomfort."

I very much enjoyed my first meeting with, Nathalie Sinclair. My first treatment was very beneficial and I already feel stronger and have less discomfort. I found Nathalie's approach to be thoroughly professional and also very compassionate. I feel that with her help, and that of other staff, I can now reach my goals of increased fitness and strength. Nathalie also just made me feel much happier and hopeful about myself and my health challenges. That's a lot to offer a patient/client in only one session!

I was referred to your practice by a dear friend and one of your other patients. I only wish I had come to you sooner.

M.T., Calgary, Alberta.

A great holistic treatment. I was scared and skeptical prior to my first treatment, and left with a new appreciation for osteopathic treatment, as well as education and encouragement to improve my function and make positive lifestyle changes. Nathalie Sinclair seems extremely skilled, genuinely wants to help you feel better, and is always willing to answer questions. She was able to make sense of a number of longstanding problem areas, including ones others have missed, and offer practical and effective strategies to improve. I leave each session feeling energized and motivated to improve all aspects of my health.

Nathalie Sinclair is great.  I am almost pain free most of the time after just two sessions.  Viviana Shaneman, Calgary, Alberta.

I went to see The English Osteopaths regarding problems with upper back/shoulder flexibility and mobility that I have struggled with from years of competitive swimming. In my first session with Ed he was able to identify the origin of the problem, and  provided me with range of motion exercises and stretches to increase my mobility. The results were amazing! In six weeks, my range of motion increased dramatically and the difference in my movements were easily recognized by myself and others.  I now have a range of motion in my upper body that I have not had for years.

Ed is both knowledgeable and practical, but above all he can communicate. He was a valuable asset for our club where his treatment and injury management skills have, at times, literally held the team together. Osteopathy for sports teams is the way forward! I have suffered from IBS and the uncomfortable symptoms that go with it for the past 15 years or so. The painful and rather more embarrassing elements of IBS had become a particular problem at work and during periods of increased workload or stress. Visceral Osteopathy with Lucy made an immediate and powerful difference to my day-to-day life. The improvements to my digestion and overall health gathered pace with

each treatment. I have to admit I was surprised and thrilled with the results, having failed with previous attempts at exclusion diets and prescription supplements. Sophie, 30, Ad Exec, London.

During my pregnancy I started getting sciatica and I could hardly walk up and down the stairs let alone take care of my 2 year old son. I was in a lot of pain and really worried about how I'd cope with the rest of the pregnancy. After a few treatments I was completely pain free. Lucy also worked on my diaphragm and that got rid of the reflux too. It has been such a relief to find a treatment that could help me so much. Claire, New Mother, London.

After undergoing ACL reconstruction in my knee and 9 months of physiotherapy I seemed to plateau and see no more improvement. My knee was painful, inflexible and I had numbness in the lower leg. I did not feel secure relying on the leg for full support, thus limiting my physical activities. After 3 sessions with Ed, I felt the joint loosen, the pain and numbness disappear. Less than 2 months after my first appointment I was skiing and 6 months on I am happily enjoying all the physical pursuits I had before: running, climbing, riding. Prior to seeing Ed I was questioning my ability to ever pursue these again. I feel like I got my life back. Thank you so much!! Fiona- Mountain lover, Equestrian, Calgary AB.

I strained my back after playing a game of polo and having avoided "back specialists before" I decided that I would take the plunge for the first time and a friend recommended using an osteopath rather than a chiropractor. I got an appointment with Lucy and having got my shirt off, she was very good at identifying a number of issues with my back which have built up over years. She very professionally went about repairing the damaged areas and I must say that the results where immediate. As well as being more flexible I noticed I was standing straighter but also I started to feel better and have more energy. I would recommend her to anyone who has never been to an osteopath before, her sessions have a very relaxed way and I enjoyed the way she passed information about what she was doing and why during each session. Tim, Polo Player, UK.

I was seeking relief from several years of chronic elbow joint pain, which, to this point in time, had been misdiagnosed by previously consulted sports therapists as "tennis elbow".  Golfing and most upper body exercises caused discomfort and swelling.  A co-worker suggested I visit an Osteopathic therapist and my research led me to Edward Paget.   During the first consultation, Ed manipulated my elbow to correct what he suspected was a “pulled elbow” (partial dislocation) with associated ligament entrapment.   I have been pain-free since that first fateful appointment in April 2008.  Ed is now my ‘go to guy’ for any future issues with body biomechanics or injuries. LM, Canmore, Alberta.

While visiting friends and family in England, I developed an increasingly annoying pain in my neck that was beginning to interfere with my activity. I was lucky enough to meet Edward Paget, who gave me a single treatment that has cured it completely. As a child my family went to an osteopath, and I was pleased to be reminded of his attention by Edward's professional treatment. His touch is gentle, strong, and sure, and he seems completely confident about what he is doing. He communicates quietly and efficiently, in a soothing tone of voice that helps the patient to relax. Following two dislocated shoulders, I began experiencing frequent tingling and numbness down my arm and coldness in my hand. I found this highly irritating, and it did not improve with physiotherapy. After several months, I had begun to accept that this was something I would have to learn to live with. However, I decided to give osteopathic therapy a try as it had worked for me in the past. After just one visit with Ed, my numbness and coldness had completely resolved. It is such a relief to feel back to my "pre-injury" self! I am amazed that Ed was able to accomplish those kind of results in such a short amount of time and I would certainly return with any future issues. Clarissa Pearse, Calgary, Alberta

I really liked the appointment and the gentleness and non invasive style of osteopathic therapy. My hip and knee feel a lot better than they did prior to the appointment, I am very happy with the outcome. Melissa Bos, Edmonton, Alberta.

I was in a car accident in May 08 and upon advice from my doctor I started to see a Chiropractor as well as a Massage Therapist. I was going to my Chiropractor for almost 3 months at least 4 times per week when a friend suggested that I see an Osteopathic therapist. She explained how the Osteopathic therapist had helped her and that I should give her a try.  I made an appointment with Lucy Lowes that week. On my first visit, I was really impressed that Lucy had asked so much about any prior injuries or illnesses, as far back as childhood. I had expected to come to her for just one specific thing, which was the awful numbness in my right baby finger since the accident and stiffness and soreness in my neck. I was so excited after my very first treatment with Lucy because I actually had relief in my finger for the first time in over 3 months. I have since had a much quicker recovery with the numbness in my right finger and neck and to my amazement Lucy has helped me immensely with my IBS as well as a very old injury on my tailbone, which I pretty much had surrendered to living with as it was at least 10 years ago that I had that injury.

I would also like to thank Lucy for re-introducing me to Yoga. The instructors at Yoga Santosha are fantastic and I feel that I've been able to continue healing by practicing yoga. Colleen O, Calgary, Alberta.

When my third daughter, Keira was born I had back labor. Her forehead was pressing on my tailbone. We had troubles getting her to take naps right from the beginning, but by two months her crying was getting worse and she still wasn’t sleeping for longer than 30 minutes at a time during the day. We knew she needed more sleep because she would wake up crying and cranky. At this time we noticed that she would quite often push her hands to her head, around her forehead and temples, as if in pain. We would massage lightly where she had her hands and we found this helped slightly. It was quite common for her to cry for a couple of hours at a time, the longest bout was three hours with her screaming and arching her back. She would cry before feeding, during and after. The doctor said she was colic. At three months, a friend suggested we go see Lucy because she had brought her infant to her. I thought that we should try anything if it would help our little girl. During our first craniosacral session, Keira was crying as usual until Lucy started the therapy and saying her name. Keira looked up at her and calmed down; she stared at Lucy for the rest of the session, quiet. Lucy asked if she was bruised on her forehead when she was born because she seemed to have swelling there. She did have a bruise on most of her forehead at birth. So our baby basically had a horrible headache. Within a half hour after the therapy, she fell asleep for her first two hour nap ever. I felt that she was about 80% better after one session so we went back two weeks later for another. After the next session, Keira was sleeping normally and a much happier baby. She hasn’t held her head in the same way since and it as been four months now. I should also mention that we found out that she is lactose intolerant and after we made the proper diet changes she no longer has any feeding problems. I don’t know what we would have done if my friend hadn’t suggested craniosacral. Kerianne Calgary Alberta
